Conner as "The Tramp"

For years, Conner has shared my love of silent films especially Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. A couple of years ago, he received a cane and the idea to dress as Chaplin was born. This year he finally made it a reality.

Conner and Lizzie Halloween 2012

This year, we decided our kids were too old to go out trick or treating. We decided to stay home and pass out candy at home. They still could dress up to pass out candy to the neighbor kids. So they came up with their costumes which had to be from stuff at home.

Conner finally got to be "The Tramp" a dream come true for him. This picture doesn't do it justice, his pants a little to short, his shoes a little too small, the blue bow tie instead of black. It was great!

E wanted to dress up as "Chikin grf" a made up character her and her friend Huntar like to joke about. I really don't know, so don't ask. It was funny and she was happy.

We went outside our gate, set up our pumpkins with our basket of candy and waited. We waited and waited for about a hour and didn't see one trick or treater! It was such a bust, seems like more and more people are opting to take their kids to harvest parties instead of trick or treating.

We came inside and watched The Great Pumpkin, ate toasted pumpkin seeds, popcorn and feasted on our candy. We had a fun time together laughing and enjoying the evening. It wasn't a bust after all.

Leave me a comment and let me know how you spent your Halloween.
